Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius Small Group Tour

Two guides in one day, each for the thing they know. An archaeologist takes Pompeii in the morning; a hiking guide takes the volcano in the afternoon. Pompeii covers the Forum, the main street, and the houses and buildings that show how the city ran before the eruption of 79 AD. The transfer to Vesuvius is by minibus, up to 14 people. From the entrance, the first 30 minutes of the climb are steep. The crater at the top still smokes, and the view from the rim takes in the Bay of Naples. The tour begins and ends at the main entrance to the Pompeii ruins, Porta Marina Superiore. Closed shoes are essential for the volcano.
