Deux guides en une journée, chacun pour ce qu'il connaît. Un archéologue te fait découvrir Pompéi le matin ; un guide de randonnée te fait découvrir le volcan l'après-midi. La visite de Pompéi comprend le forum, la rue principale, ainsi que les maisons et les bâtiments qui témoignent du fonctionnement de la ville avant l'éruption de 79 après J.-C. Le transfert vers le Vésuve se fait en minibus, pour un maximum de 14 personnes. Depuis l'entrée, les 30 premières minutes de l'ascension sont assez pentues. Le cratère au sommet fume encore, et la vue depuis le bord offre un panorama sur la baie de Naples. La visite commence et se termine à l'entrée principale des ruines de Pompéi, Porta Marina Superiore. Des chaussures fermées sont indispensables pour la visite du volcan.

    The meeting point is the main entrance to the Pompeii ruins, Porta Marina Superiore, opposite the Hortus Bar and Restaurant. It is easiest to find on a map under that name.

    Transfer to Vesuvius. At the top the crater still smokes slightly, and the view takes in the Bay of Naples, Capri, Ischia and the edge of the Sorrento coast. The last 500 m is a very steep climb, and closed shoes are essential. At the end the group returns to the main entrance of the Pompeii ruins, Porta Marina Superiore.
