The Lava Show in Reykjavík: Real Lava Meets Ice Indoors
Ratings collected by Tiqets
Nobody gets to stand next to flowing lava on a volcano. This is the compromise, and it is a fair one: a room, a controlled pour, and molten rock at 1,100 °C running down over ice a few metres from the seats. The heat arrives before the lava does, which is the part that surprises people. Then the noise, as the ice gives way underneath it. The commentary around the pour explains what is happening in the rock, and what happens on this island when it happens outdoors, so it is a lesson with a fire in the middle of it. This is the Reykjavík venue. The same company runs a second show at Vík. A cold drink is not a bad idea.
