Teide Star Safari: Dinner at 7 Cañadas, 2,130 m, Starlight Guides
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
TenerifeThe dinner is at 2,130 metres. Restaurante 7 Cañadas sits inside Teide National Park, in La Orotava, and the three Canarian courses come with drinks and with the volcanic plain outside the window. The coach is air-conditioned and collects across South Tenerife. The drive is the first part of the tour rather than dead time: the guide covers the volcanic history of the park, the plants and animals that manage to live in it, and the legends that came before either. Pick-up times move through the year, and yours is confirmed the day before, or on the morning of the tour for Tuesday departures. Sunset comes after the meal, above the sea of clouds, with a glass of cava or orange juice included and Teide's shadow taking the sun. Spain's highest peak, 3,718 metres. Then the sky. The guides are Starlight-certified and multilingual, and they work with powerful telescopes and laser pointers: planets, constellations, distant galaxies, with the mythology and the science in the same sentence. Astrophotography is part of the night, and there is a photograph of you under the stars to take home. After that the coach goes straight back to the hotels.

Your Sunset & Stargazing Safari begins with a comfortable
The safari starts with a climate-controlled coach, collected from one of the hotel pick-up points across South Tenerife. The drive is guided: volcanic history, the flora and fauna that manage to live up there, and the old legends attached to the ground you are crossing. Teide National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the tour starts the moment you board rather than when you arrive. Pick-up times change through the year. Yours is confirmed the day before the tour, or on the morning itself for Tuesday departures.
Your destination is Restaurante 7 Cañadas in La Orotava
Restaurante 7 Cañadas, in La Orotava, at 2,130 metres above sea level, inside Teide National Park. A Canarian dinner with drinks, and through the windows the volcanic plains, the lava fields and the shapes the ground has been worn into.
After dinner, the sky begins its quiet transformation
After dinner the sky starts changing. Sunset above the sea of clouds, with a glass of chilled cava or orange juice as the colour comes up and the sun drops into the shadow of Mount Teide, the highest peak in Spain at 3,718 metres.
As twilight deepens
With twilight the telescopes come out. The night skies here are among the clearest anywhere, and the guides are multilingual and work through both the stargazing and the astrophotography. Mythology, science and history arrive together: the stories older civilisations wrote into the constellations, the forces that shaped what you are looking at, and the photographs you take away from it.
After Stargazing and another FREE PHOTO under the night…
After the stargazing, and a second free photo under the night sky, the coach goes straight back to the hotels.
