Teide by Quad from the North: Siete Cañadas and 2,200 m

Pick-up is from your hotel in Puerto de la Cruz, which puts this one on the northern side of the island. Before anything moves there are helmets, a safety briefing and a practice area, so the first time you use the throttle is not on a mountain road. The route runs up through northern Tenerife towards Teide National Park, passing the old La Caldera volcano, with a rest at Ramón Caminero and a drink while the ground you are crossing gets explained. Siete Cañadas is the viewpoint that stops everybody. The colours and the rock formations there are the reason for carrying a camera. The high point of the ride is 2,200 metres (7,217 feet), at the foot of Teide. Coming down there is another stop at the Aguamansa viewpoint, in the Orotava Valley, and back at base a snack and a drink before the transfer to your hotel.
