Quad from Playa de las Américas to Boca del Tauce, 90 km
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
TenerifeFour hours and 56 miles on a quad, from Playa de las Américas up to Las Cañadas del Teide, climbing to 2,400 metres. Forest at the bottom, volcanic ground that looks lunar at the top. The road up goes through Arona and La Escalona, with a stop at Vilaflor long enough for a walk or a drink before the last part of the climb. Inside the national park the run reaches Boca del Tauce, with time to stop, take photographs and breathe the mountain air, with Teide standing over the whole thing. The route is entirely on asphalt. That is not a preference: the level of environmental protection in these areas does not allow anything else. Two hard requirements before booking. The driver needs a valid original category B licence held for at least two years, and has to be over 25.

Teide National Park
Four hours and 90 kilometres, from Playa Las Americas up to Las Cañadas del Teide, in the middle of the national park at about 2,400 metres. The riding goes through forest and open volcanic ground. Roughly 15% of the route is on dirt roads and the rest is on asphalt, because the degree of environmental protection here does not allow much else. On the way up the route passes through Arona, La Escalona and Vilaflor, a town where there is time to walk about or freshen up before the last of the climb. Inside the national park the stop is at Boca del Tauce, with enough time to sit, take photographs and breathe the mountain air, under Teide, the highest in Spain at 3,760 metres.
