Taal by Bangka: the Volcano from the Water and the Market at Talisay
Taal is the volcano that rearranged the ground around it, and this day looks at it from three distances. From Tagaytay, at a safe remove, the caldera is laid out below the ridge. At Agoncillo, close in, what the volcano did to the land is plain to see. Then the water. A bangka, the local boat, takes the group across to the volcano island itself, which is the only way to reach it. Between the two, a short walk round the market at Talisay in Batangas, which is where the produce of this country actually changes hands. Pick-up and drop-off are free from hotels in Makati, Taguig, Ermita, Malate, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa and Pasay. Outside those areas there is an extra charge. Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for a full refund.
