Taal and a Waterfall Behind It: a Rainforest Trail and a Cave Church
Two places in a day, and the second one is not on most itineraries. The boat goes round the volcano island on Lake Taal, past the shoreline where people live and work with the ground the eruptions left them. Then the waterfall. It sits in tropical rainforest at the end of a trail that takes 20 to 30 minutes. The operator is honest that some people find it hard going, and it is worth saying plainly: this is a walk, not a viewpoint by the road. There is also a Catholic church built into a cave, which is known locally and almost nowhere else. Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for a full refund.
