Pagsanjan Falls-Taal Volcano-Tagaytay ultimate Day Tour frm MNL

Two rivers of a sort in one day: one you ride, one you look at. Pagsanjan is reached in a dugout canoe, which these days is fibreglass rather than wood. Two licensed boatmen row it upstream through a narrow river, working it past rocks and around obstacles the whole way. Twenty minutes gets you to the first fall, and then on to the main one. Coming back down is what locals call shooting the rapids, and it is the part people remember. Tagaytay is on every Philippine itinerary because of where it sits: directly above the active crater of Taal, cool enough to be a relief after Manila, with the crater lake below. The People's Park in the Sky is there too, still unfinished and famous for it. Taal itself is a large caldera filled by its own lake, in Batangas province. It is the second most active volcano in the country, with 38 eruptions on the record, the most recent in January 2022. A local boat takes the group in close. 1. Pagsanjan Falls

A dugout canoe upstream towards Pagsanjan Falls, between vines and trees, with wildlife along the banks if you watch for it. Twenty minutes to the first fall, then on to the main one. The way back is the part that counts: shooting the rapids, with the boatman reading the water and steering through it.

  2. Tagaytay

Tagaytay earns its place on itineraries by sitting above the active crater of Taal. The crater lake is below, the air is cooler than the lowland, and the People's Park in the Sky is still famously unfinished.

  3. Taal Volcano

A local boat brings the group in close to Taal, which last erupted in January 2022.
