Star Safari by Coach: Sunset Cava at 7 Cañadas, Then Telescopes
The base for the evening is the Restaurante 7 Cañadas, 2,130 metres up in Teide National Park, and this is the version that gets you there by coach. Pick-up is from hotel collection points across the south of the island, in an air-conditioned coach, with the guide covering the volcanic history, the plants and animals that live up here and the legends attached to the mountain on the way. At the restaurant there is time on the panoramic terrace before the sun goes. Sunset comes with a glass of cava, or orange juice, and Teide in front of you at 3,718 metres. Then the sky. The guides are Starlight-certified and work with telescopes and laser pointers, moving between mythology, science and the occasional joke. Planets, constellations, galaxies. A photograph is taken under the night sky and it is included. The coach then goes straight back to the hotels. Two practical notes. This version does not include dinner. And pick-up times shift through the year: yours is confirmed the day before, or on the morning of the tour for Tuesday departures.

Your Sunset & Stargazing Safari begins with a comfortable
The evening starts with a climate-controlled coach, collected from one of the hotel pick-up points across the south of the island. On the way up the guides work through the volcanic history of Teide National Park, the plants and animals that manage to live at this altitude, and the old legends attached to the mountain. The park is UNESCO World Heritage, and the talking starts as soon as you are aboard. Pick-up times move through the year. Yours is confirmed the day before the tour, or on the morning of it for Tuesday departures.
Enjoy the restaurant facilities until the sky begins its…
The restaurant is yours until the light starts to change. Sunset here happens above the sea of clouds. A glass of chilled cava, or orange juice, as the colour comes up and the sun drops behind Teide, the highest point in Spain at 3,718 metres.
As twilight deepens
As it gets dark the telescopes come out. The skies over this park are among the clearest anywhere, and the guides work in several languages, moving between mythology, science and history: the stories older civilisations read in the stars, the forces that built what you are looking at, and the astrophotography you take home.
After Stargazing and another FREE PHOTO under the night…
After the stargazing, and a second free photograph under the night sky, the coach goes straight back to drop you at your hotel.
