South Lanzarote in 6 to 7 Hours: El Golfo, Timanfaya, La Geria
Six to seven hours across the south, running on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. The Lago Verde at El Golfo comes first, the green lagoon sitting in its crater. Then the volcano route through Timanfaya National Park, and the geothermal demonstrations at the Islote de Hilario. The camels are optional and paid on the spot. Lunch is a stop at a restaurant in Yaiza. It is not included, so that cost is yours. La Geria closes the day, the vineyard country that catches most people out the first time they see it. Two practical points. If the national park is closed for reasons outside the operator's control, the Timanfaya Interpretation Centre is visited instead. And the pick-up is not fixed when you book: send the operator the name of your accommodation afterwards and they will give you the nearest point. Dress for the season. In winter a sweater or a light jacket is worth having.
