Rio Celeste Tubing with a Certified Naturalist Guide and GoPro Photos
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
La FortunaTubing on the Rio Celeste means going down the river on an inflatable ring, through water that runs clear, with stretches of quiet pool between the faster sections. The banks show the volcanic clay that this river is known for. What comes with this particular descent is a certified bilingual guide who stays with the group the whole way. That covers safety on the water, and it also covers what the river is doing and what lives along it. The guide is a naturalist rather than someone who only handles the equipment. The photographs are taken for you on GoPro cameras, which settles the problem every tubing trip has: you cannot hold a phone and hold on at the same time. The operator works from its own base, with departures at 8:00, 10:00, 12:00, 14:00 and 16:00. A different time can sometimes be arranged, but it has to be agreed before you buy, when the operator gets in touch.
