Rio Celeste and Tenorio Hike: Bride's Veil Falls, Hot Springs and Mud Pools
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
La FortunaThe colour of the Rio Celeste starts at one exact spot: where the Buena Vista and the Roble meet, both of them coming down off Tenorio. Above that junction each river runs like any other. Below it the water turns pale blue, because the minerals the two carry react when they mix. Standing at the confluence is a large part of why people come. The walk goes into the Tenorio Volcano area, to the waterfall called the Bride's Veil, which is the stretch of the day most people photograph, and on to the viewpoint over the volcano itself. The day does not stop at the falls. There are mineral hot springs to sit in and volcanic mud pools beside them, which is what fills the hours after the walking is done.
