Private Ubud Day Trip: Monkey Forest, Tegalalang, Batur Lunch and Tirta Empul
An early start from your hotel, and six stops that cover Ubud proper before the day moves up to the volcano. The Monkey Forest opens it: 12.5 hectares of forest near the centre of town, with more than 700 monkeys living in it. A short walk from there is the traditional market, and the king's palace sits directly opposite, so the two get done together. Tegalalang is a short trek through the rice paddies with jungle round the edges. Then the drive up to Batur, where the buffet lunch is at a traditional restaurant facing the volcano with the lake behind it. On the way back the tour stops at a herb and spice plantation, then at Tirta Empul. The spring water there feeds the bathing pools at the main temple, and local people queue to be blessed in them. Joining the ritual is a choice, not a requirement: watching is fine. The day is private, and the driving is done for you. Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for a full refund.
