Private Golden Circle Platinum: Lunch Among the Tomato Plants, Sky Lagoon
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
ReykjavikHidden Iceland's Platinum version of the Golden Circle, private only. It used to run as a small group option and no longer does, which is worth knowing if you looked at it before. Lunch is at Friðheimar, and it happens inside the greenhouse, at a table among the tomato plants that supplied it. The place is a working greenhouse and a horse breeding farm at the same time. The meal is included. The Sky Lagoon comes with the seven-step ritual: a naturally heated hot spring looking out at the sea, with volcanic rock around it. The rest is the region itself, which sits on Reykjavík's doorstep and holds more than most countries fit into a whole map: waterfalls with real weight behind them, geothermal pools, geysers that erupt on a schedule of their own, two continental plates separating, and, at Friðheimar, food grown on the heat underneath all of it. Þingvellir is the national park where the first Icelandic parliament sat. Geysir is the geothermal field. Gullfoss is the waterfall. The guides work in English.
