The Golden Circle with a working greenhouse added to it, which turns out to be the stop people talk about afterwards. Friðheimar grows tomatoes in Iceland, which should not be possible, and does it with geothermal heat and biological pest control rather than chemicals. The method gets explained on site. There are Icelandic horses there too, and they can be patted. At the Geysir field, Strokkur throws a column of water up to 30 metres, 98 feet, every 4 to 8 minutes. Gullfoss, the queen of Icelandic waterfalls, is made by the river Hvítá and falls into a crevice about 32 metres deep. Þingvellir is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the number that makes it real is this one: the American and Eurasian plates are pulling apart here at a few centimetres a year. The valley you walk through is that process, running slowly enough to be invisible and long enough to have made this. Departure is from the BSÍ Bus Terminal, 15 minutes before the scheduled time.
