Private Fuji and Hakone by Car: Two Itineraries, and the Clock Starts When You Do
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
TokyoA private charter with a licensed operator, picked up at your hotel, and two itineraries to choose between. Fuji and Hakone: the Mount Fuji 5th Station if the weather allows, Oshino Hakkai, then over to Hakone for Owakudani and the pirate cruise on Lake Ashi, turning back around four. The Fuji area: the 5th Station again weather permitting, Lake Kawaguchiko, the Kachi Kachi ropeway, Oishi Park, Oshino Hakkai and the pagoda at Arakurayama Sengen shrine, turning back in the seventh hour. The hours are the part to read carefully. The return starts in the seventh hour of the tour, and if the vehicle leaves after the eighth hour, overtime is charged. The 5th Station is the highest point on Mount Fuji a car can reach, and it is never guaranteed: it closes for weather and for maintenance. The itinerary can be customised, though some changes carry an extra charge, so agree them before the day rather than in the car. Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for a full refund.
