Poás at 2,708 m, the Starbucks Farm at Hacienda Alsacia and Sarapiquí
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
San JosePoás stands 2,708 m high and is one of the most active volcanoes in Costa Rica, which is a strange thing to have a short drive from San Jose. Pick-up is at your accommodation. The road up runs past dairy farms, strawberry fields and the nurseries that grow ornamental plants, with coffee plantations covering most of what is left. The first coffee stop is Hacienda Alsacia, the farm owned by one of the best known brands in the world. The second is Mi Cafecito, in Sarapiquí, where the tour goes through how the coffee is grown and handled, and where lunch is chosen from a menu rather than served as a set plate. La Paz waterfall is seen from outside, on the break in the Sarapiquí mountains. After lunch there is a second waterfall, El Congo, further into the hills, and a viewpoint over the Sarapiquí river basin. Lunch is included. Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for a full refund.
