Doka Estate, Twenty Minutes at the Poás Crater, and La Paz Gardens

Breakfast at the Doka Coffee Estate opens the day, then the coffee tour on the working plantation: cultivation, harvesting and roasting of the bean, demonstrated rather than described, and the result to drink at the end. At Poás Volcano National Park the time at the crater is 20 minutes, set by the National Volcanic Security Bureau rather than by the operator. It is one of the largest active craters on Earth, with cloud forest around it and the sulphur fumaroles working below. La Paz Waterfall Gardens takes the rest. The trails run through rainforest past white water and the falls, and the exhibits are the aviary, the butterfly observatory, the hummingbird garden, the serpentarium, the jungle cats and the frogs.
