Doka Breakfast, 40 Minutes Inside Poás, and La Paz Waterfall Gardens

Breakfast is at the Doka Coffee Plantation, before the guided walk through how the coffee is processed and produced. Then Poás, an active volcano of 2,708 m, with its crater and the gas coming off it, and the guide on the volcanic activity and the ecosystems inside the park. The time inside Poás Volcano National Park is worth reading twice, because it is short and it is fixed: 40 minutes in total. Ten minutes walking to the crater viewpoint, twenty at the viewpoint itself, ten walking back out. That is the whole of it. La Paz Waterfall Gardens takes the rest of the day, and it is where things slow down. A path through the falls, an aviary, the largest butterfly observatory in the country, the hummingbird gallery, a serpentarium, and the frog, monkey and cat exhibitions. Lunch is a buffet at the end.
