Poás and the Botos Lagoon, Familia Vargas Coffee, and the Five La Paz Falls
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
San JoseThree stops, and none of them overlaps with the others. The coffee comes first, in the coffee land of San Isidro, through the small plantations of Alajuela: the history of coffee production in the province, how it is made there, and a viewpoint over Alajuela to photograph it from. The farms are La Casita del Café, the Familia Vargas plantation and Café Medio Sol/Media Luna. Poás is one of only seven currently active volcanoes in Costa Rica. After the main crater, the walk continues to the Botos Lagoon and along the trails that ring the volcano. La Paz Waterfall Gardens Natural Park holds over 100 rescued animal species: sloths, jaguars, toucans, hummingbirds and the rest. Lunch there is a buffet with over 35 options. The five La Paz waterfalls close the day, each from a different position. Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for a full refund.
