Perlan: an Indoor Ice Cave and Áróra in 8K
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
ReykjavikPerlan is the largest museum in Iceland, and the ticket covers all of it. The ice cave inside is real ice, indoors. The exhibitions cover Icelandic nature and are built to be handled rather than read at: volcanoes, glaciers, the sea. Áróra is the northern lights show, projected in 8K in the planetarium, which is the version of the aurora that does not depend on the weather. The volcano show is the other set piece, and the observation deck runs 360 degrees around the building, over Reykjavík and well past it. One practical note: Perlan does not run a pick-up service, so getting there is your own arrangement.

Perlan is Iceland's largest museum and the top attraction…
Perlan is the largest museum in Iceland and the most visited attraction in Reykjavík. Inside there is a real ice cave to walk into, exhibits to handle rather than just look at, the northern lights show, and the volcano room. What holds it together is that every display is about the same thing: how this country and its nature actually work, and what that means for the people living on it. The building is one of the landmarks of Reykjavík, and the museum inside it has won awards.
