Mt. Fuji Ice Cave in Aokigahara: No Lights, No Handrails
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
Fujikawaguchiko-machi
Aokigahara is the forest on the north side of Mount Fuji, known in Japanese as Jukai, the sea of trees. Plenty of people go there. Getting into this cave takes a permission most of them never have. The guide who holds it speaks English. Inside there are no handrails and no lighting of any kind. What you have is one headlamp, and the cave as it is rather than as an attraction with a walkway laid through it. Three hours, and the group is capped at twelve people. The meeting points are Narusawa 8532-63 and Kawaguchiko station.
