Mount Batur Sunset Trek: the Summit in the Evening, Not at Dawn
Batur is a sunrise mountain for almost everyone who climbs it. This one goes up in the afternoon instead. The trails are the same volcanic ones, walked with a local guide, but the queue on the path is not there and the summit is quiet. Lake Batur is below you and the mountains stand around it, and the colour comes into the sky from the other end of the day. What you give up is the sunrise itself. What you get back is a mountain with almost nobody on it and a walk done at a comfortable pace. Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for a full refund.
