Batur to the 1,717 m Peak from Toya Bungkah, then the Hot Spring

The walk starts at Toya Bungkah, which is where the trekking guide meets you, at 04:00. Hotel pick-up is anywhere between 01:30 and 03:00, depending on how far away you are staying. Between 05:30 and 06:00 you reach the Batur sunrise viewpoint, and there is a choice at that point: stop there, or carry on to the main peak at 1,717 metres above sea level. Breakfast follows at 06:15, a banana sandwich, a boiled egg, fruit and hot drinks. The way down begins at 07:00. If you have the legs for it, the guide will take you round the entire crater instead, which is the recommendation for anyone fit enough for it. Back at the car park between 08:30 and 09:00. Then the part that separates this from the other Batur treks. At 09:15 you go to the Batur natural hot spring and sit in hot water with the mountain you have just climbed in front of you. Hotel drop-off at 11:00.
