La Palma's Northwest Coast by Boat, Past Tijarafe and Puntagorda
The cliffs along this coast are a cut through two million years of volcanic history, and from the water you see the layers rather than the top of them. The boat leaves the sports dock at Puerto de Tazacorte and runs along the coast of the municipalities of Tijarafe and Puntagorda, past the cliffs, the small ports and the natural beaches. At the end of the coastal leg the boat turns out into open water, where whales, dolphins, turtles, seabirds and whatever else is around are what everyone is watching for. How the trip finishes depends on the day and the hour. Some days there is a walk. Others, if the timing falls right, the boat stays out for the sunset.
