Golden Circle with an Hour of Snowmobiling on Langjokull
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
ReykjavikThe Golden Circle with an hour on a snowmobile in the middle of it. Langjökull is the second largest ice cap in Iceland, and the ride crosses open snowfields on top of it, with instructors along to handle the safety end. An hour is long enough to get past the novelty and start looking at where you are. The rest of the day is the standard route, in an order that puts Gullfoss last. Þingvellir first, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where the North American and Eurasian plates converge. Then the Geysir geothermal area, with bubbling mud pools alongside the spouting springs. The glacier after that. And Gullfoss on the way back to Reykjavík, falling into its canyon. Departure is from the BSÍ Bus Terminal, a short walk from the centre of the city.
