Golden Circle and Kerid with Blue Lagoon Comfort: Towel, Mask and a Drink
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
ReykjavikEverything is paid for before you leave: every admission on the route, the Blue Lagoon included. Nothing to buy at the gate. The Blue Lagoon ticket is the Comfort admission, which means more than entry. A towel to use, one silica mud mask, and one non-alcoholic drink of your choice come with it. Þingvellir starts the day, a UNESCO World Heritage Site listed for its nature and its history together, and the place where the American and Eurasian plates meet closely enough to stand with a foot on each. Laugarvatn sits beside its lake in geothermal ground, where the steam is used to bake rye bread in the earth. At Geysir, the neighbour does the work: Strokkur erupts up to 30 metres every few minutes. Food and drink can be bought there, up to a full lunch. Gullfoss follows, then Kerið, a crater 3,000 years old and 55 metres deep. The drive to the Blue Lagoon crosses the Reykjanes peninsula, past lava fields and cone volcanoes with the Atlantic behind them. The group stays small.

Golden Circle Route
The Golden Circle is the most travelled route in Iceland, and the reasons are straightforward: Thingvellir National Park, UNESCO listed; the Geysir geothermal area; and Gullfoss waterfall. Kerid gets added to those three here.
Thingvellir National Park
Thingvellir, the old site of the Icelandic parliament, listed by UNESCO for its nature and its history alike.
Laugarvatn
Laugarvatn is beside a lake of the same name in geothermally active ground, where the superheated vapour rising from the earth is used locally to bake rye bread in it.
Witness the amazing world famous Geysir hot spring and its…
Geysir, and its active neighbour Strokkur, which erupts up to 30 metres every few minutes. Food and drink can be bought during this stop, including a full lunch if you want one.
Gullfoss Falls
Gullfoss, the golden waterfall, and the power that comes with it.
Kerid Crater
The Kerid volcanic crater, 3,000 years old and 55 metres deep.
Reykjanes Peninsula
Across the Reykjanes peninsula on the way to the Blue Lagoon: lava fields, cone volcanoes, and the Atlantic beyond them.
