Etna Morning on the South Slope with a Sicilian Street Food Picnic

A morning from Catania with a naturalist guide, on a hiking route that climbs the southern slope of Etna to 2,000 metres, through forest and past craters and lava formations. A volcanic cave is part of the walk. Helmets and torches are supplied. What marks this one out is what happens after the trekking: an outdoor picnic of typical Sicilian street food, with water and red Etna wine, eaten on the mountain. In winter the temperatures make that impractical, so it moves indoors to a chalet, with pizza or typical products instead. The operator states the swap in advance rather than leaving you to find out.
