Etna Central Crater at 3,345 m, Worked from Both the South and North Sides

The target is the Central Crater at 3,345 metres. What separates this itinerary from most others on the mountain is that it uses both flanks: the route runs mainly on the south and the north sides rather than committing to one of them. The craters at that altitude are the reason for the climb. There are few places in Europe where you can stand beside anything comparable, and none of them are as easy to reach as this one. The meeting point is the Italian Ski School Monte Conca at Linguaglossa, on the north side.
