The route goes up the southern slope of the island and is usually circular. The walking is as much or as little as you feel like, on the trails at the places where the car stops. Two things are quoted separately rather than sitting in the price. The first is going up in the cable car. The second is a meal in a local restaurant, the kind the island eats in rather than the kind built for tour groups. Ask for either and it gets priced on top. The same applies to any other change: the tour can be customised, and the request is valued apart from the figure originally quoted.
