Rinjani for Beginners: Senaru Rim, with Tiu Kelep Falls on the Side
The operator is direct about this one: of its Rinjani packages, this is the only one it recommends to people who have not done a trek like it before. Two days, one night. The path goes up through rainforest that has not been cut, and camp gets built on the crater rim itself. From up there the sunset goes down over the Gili islands and Mount Agung on Bali, and the sunrise comes back over the same horizon the next morning. A suggestion worth taking: on the day you arrive, or the day before you climb, the Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep waterfalls are close by and both are worth the walk. They cost nothing to add to a trip that is already bringing you to Senaru. Pick-up is at 07:00. Send the operator your hotel name and they will collect you there. All sales are final, with no refund for cancellations.
