Pompeii, Herculaneum and Vesuvius Private, Guide Optional
Three sites in a day, privately, with pick-up and drop-off in Naples. The booking comes in two forms and it is worth knowing which you are choosing. Either a driver with the tickets included, or a driver and a private guide with the tickets included. The first gets you there and in. The second gets you the explanation as well. Pompeii is the large one: temples, markets, baths, theatres and the Forum, all of it stopped in 79 AD by the ash, which is also what kept it. Herculaneum is smaller and in better condition. Wooden doors survive there, along with furniture, mosaics and houses of more than one storey, which gives a closer view of how people actually lived. Vesuvius comes last, through the national park and up to the crater, with the Bay of Naples and the coastline below.
