La Fortuna's 70-Metre Fall, Bridges 135 Metres Up, and 15 Thermal Pools

Three stops from San Jose, each with a number attached. La Fortuna waterfall drops 70 metres into tropical forest. The trail to the base goes down through the jungle, with the guide on the plants and animals along it, and there is swimming in the river at the bottom, next to the water curtain. The Arenal suspension bridges are the second stop: two hours of trails, with the highest bridges 135 metres up. From that level the rainforest is below you and Arenal stands over it. Sloths on the branches, monkeys moving through the canopy, bright birds, and the rodents, snakes and spiders that most people walk past without seeing. The last stop is a thermal spa with more than 15 pools, each held at a different temperature, next to the volcano. There are pools with waterfalls, hydrotherapy areas and whirlpool chairs.
