Arenal 10-Hour Combo: a 6-Hour Jungle Hike, Volcanic Mud Ponds and Hot Springs

Ten hours in total, six of them walking, and the walking is the hardest on offer around La Fortuna. The route goes well into the rainforest, and the operator is explicit about the requirement: this is for people in very good physical condition. What is out there along the way: waterfalls, volcanic mud ponds that you are meant to get into, and the red-eyed nocturnal frog, which takes some finding. The open ground gives the best views of Arenal and of Lake Arenal. The day finishes at a thermomineral hot springs river, which is the right way to end six hours on foot. The group meets at Restaurante El Perezoso, 20 minutes before the start.
