Katla Ice Cave from Vik: the Fastest Ice Cave in Iceland

Ice caves usually cost a day, and often a long drive on top of it. This one does not. It runs from Vík, and the whole thing is short enough to fit into a trip with no spare days in it. The walk to the glacier is straightforward, and the time inside the ice caves is 45 to 60 minutes, which is the part that matters. The cave is in the Katla system, off Kerlingardalsvegur. Check-in is at the Katlatrack base, in the same building as the Black Crust Pizzeria. Google Maps lists it under Katlatrack. Arrive 15 minutes before departure.
