Class III and IV on the Pacuare: Eighteen Miles from Tres Equis

Eighteen miles of the Pacuare, on class III and class IV rapids, starting near the town of Tres Equis, an hour east of Turrialba. Between the rapids the river runs past waterfalls and through tropical forest, with the flora and fauna that go with it. The guides are specialised and experienced, the equipment is current, and food is part of the day. One condition to read before booking: if water levels on the Pacuare turn dangerous, the operator can move the trip to the Pejibaye River, and no refund applies when that happens. Departure is from the Explornatura base camp, and the trip runs daily. Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for a full refund.
