Borobudur, the Merapi Lava Tour and Prambanan, with Drop-Off Where You Ask
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
YogyakartaThree of the places Yogyakarta is known for, in a single day. Borobudur is the largest Buddhist temple there is, and the morning up there is cool, with the villages spread out below. Merapi comes next, by jeep, on the ground the 2010 eruption went through, the biggest the mountain has produced. The sites are the ones that eruption left behind, and the volcano stands close enough to see plainly. Prambanan is the last stop: the largest Hindu temple in South East Asia, with more stories attached to it than a day allows, and Bubrah and Sewu on the same site. The drop-off is wherever you want it in the city, on request. One thing to check: if the point you want is more than 20 km out of the city, it costs extra. Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for a full refund.
