Batur Jeep Sunrise from 2:30 am: Kintamani Light, Then the Black Sand Desert

The timings on this one are precise, so they are worth reading. Pick-up at your hotel is at 2:30 am, the drive to the starting point on the black sand takes about two hours, and the jeep sets off around 5:00. The sunrise is watched from the Kintamani side, where the sun comes up behind Batur rather than beside it, and the cloud usually sits below you in a layer. Breakfast is eaten there, simple, facing the volcano. At 7:00 the jeep moves on to the black sand and the lava, and works across it until 8:30: a black desert with the green cliffs of Kintamani standing over it.
