Batur Jeep at Sunset from Bukit Catu, Finishing on the Black Sand

This one starts at noon, which is the point of it: no alarm at two in the morning, and the mountain has emptied out by the time you get there. Pick-up is at your hotel, and a jeep driver takes over when you reach Batur. The first stop is the Bukit Catu viewpoint, with Mount Abang, Lake Batur and Agung in front of you and local farms on the way in. Then the black lava field left by the 1963 eruption, and as the light drops the jeep climbs higher, onto the black sand, and stops there for the sunset. The drive back to the hotel closes it.
