Arenal Highlights, 7:30 to 5:30: Mistico, the Waterfall and Mirador El Silencio
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
La FortunaThree attractions between a 7:30 am departure and a 5:30 pm return, each with its own slot. Mistico hanging bridges from 8 to 11. La Fortuna waterfall from 11 to 1:30. An hour for lunch. The Arenal volcano walk from 2:30 to 5:30. The bridges cross a private reserve at the point where highland and lowland ecosystems run into each other, at canopy height. The waterfall means walking down into a jungle canyon to a 70-metre drop and the turquoise pool underneath it. The volcano walk ends at Mirador El Silencio, the lookout that puts you level with the cone. The price takes in transport, every entrance fee, a bilingual naturalist guide, water, cookies and lunch, so nothing is paid at any gate. What to bring: camera, binoculars, comfortable clothing, a raincoat, walking shoes and insect repellent.

Puentes Colgantes del Arenal
Suspension bridges strung high over a private rainforest reserve, at the point where highland and lowland tropical ecosystems run into each other. An expert naturalist leads the walk through the canopy, finding the native wildlife that is hard to see from the ground, with Arenal Volcano and Lake Arenal in view.
La Fortuna Waterfall
The walk goes down into a jungle canyon to reach it: a 70-metre drop, 230 feet, falling into a bright turquoise pool with dense rainforest closed around it.
Mirador El Silencio
There are several trails around the base of Arenal, and each gives a different angle on the volcano. Mirador El Silencio is the one this tour uses. The trails to it are easy to moderate and they end at a very high lookout, level enough with the cone that the mountain stops being scenery and becomes something you stand opposite.
