Vesuvius on Horseback at Walking Pace, with a Winery Lunch

A full day in two halves. The first is on horseback, on trails across the volcanic ground of Vesuvius, with the Bay of Sorrento and the old countryside below. Read this part before booking. The riding is slow. It is meant for time with the animals and for looking at what is around you, and it does not suit anyone who wants to gallop. The second half is at a Vesuvian winery. The soil here is volcanic, and it puts a mineral edge into the wine that comes from nowhere else. The hosts are the family who make it, and they talk about how it is done while a traditional Italian lunch is served with their own bottles. The meeting point is four minutes on foot from the Pompei Scavi station.
