Seven Kilometres on Foot Round Timanfaya, from Testeina
Ratings collected by Civitatis
Testeina Mountain dirt roadSeven kilometres (4.3 miles) on foot, graded medium, three hours in all. The meeting point is the dirt road at Montaña Testeina, in Tías, and the route runs through the ground around Timanfaya National Park. Everything after that point is done on foot. What you walk over is what the eruptions left: craters, tunnels and cones, with the guide explaining which process made which shape. The colours are the other thing people remember. Ochre, brown, grey and a black that reads as absolute, often within a few metres of one another.
