Solheimajokull in a Group of Six: Blue Ice over Black Volcanic Sand

Six people at most, which is small enough that the pace belongs to the group rather than to the schedule. What is worth photographing on Sólheimajökull is the combination: blue ice, jagged ridges, and black sand lying across the surface, carried onto the glacier by past volcanic eruptions. Iceland puts those two colours on top of each other, and few other places do. The guiding covers how the glacier works while you are standing on it. The walk suits almost anybody.
