Sólheimajökull Glacier Hike - Small Group Blue Ice Adventure
With small group sizes, your guide provides hands-on instruction, fascinating glacier insights, and personalized attention throughout the hike
Taste the pristine glacial water

A glacier walk built for people who have never worn crampons, on Sólheimajökull, with the group kept small. The ice sounds different underfoot once you are on it, and the things worth seeing are the ones invisible from the car park: the formations inside the surface, and the crevasses, which are blue in a way photographs make people disbelieve. All the glacier gear is provided, and the guide walks the group through how to use it before anyone steps onto the ice. No previous experience is needed, which makes this workable for families and for people travelling alone. Departures run several times a day, so it fits into a South Coast itinerary without rearranging the rest of it. The departure point is the Sólheimajökull car park. Look for the yellow school bus.
