Semi-Private Sailing with Renieris, and the 1600 BC Eruption
Semi-private, which sits between a charter and a full boat, run by the Renieris Santorini Sailing Center out of Vlychada marina. The route takes in the parts of this coast that only a boat can reach. The Red Beach, where the volcanic rock is scarlet and the water turquoise. The White Beach, which changes the colour of everything. Mesa Pigadia, a black beach closed in by rock, with water clear enough to snorkel in. At the southern tip the lighthouse stands over its bay. The volcano is the reason any of it looks like this: the eruption of 1600 BC made the caldera. At Palea Kameni the black rock runs down into the sulphur springs, and the long stop is at Nea Kameni, with more swimming and the meal. The food is a proper Greek BBQ cooked on board with fresh ingredients, and there is dry white wine from a local winery, or something soft if you prefer. Book either the day cruise or the sunset one.
What's included
- Unlimited quantity of local dry white wine, refreshments, sparkling water and water.
- Appetizers, Greek salads and exclusive meals prepared with organic products and seasonal engredients and of course delicious desserts!

Red Beach
The Red Beach is the clearest illustration of what the eruption did to this coast: scarlet rock above turquoise water. There is snorkelling here, and the rocks photograph best from the boat.
White Beach
The colour changes as the boat moves from the Red Beach to the White. This one can only be reached by water, which is part of why it looks the way it does.
Mesa Pigadia Beach
One of the most secluded beaches on the island comes next: black sand closed in by rock, with clear water and good swimming and snorkelling.
Lighthouse
The southern tip of Santorini, where the lighthouse stands over its bay and waves back at whatever sails past.
Palea Kameni
The volcano of Santorini, the one that erupted in 1600 BC and left the caldera behind. The black rock has a glassy look to it, and the sulphur springs are where you get in.
Nea Kameni
The long stop, at Nea Kameni: more swimming and snorkelling, and the meal cooked on board with the best ingredients they can get.
