Santorini by Quad: Emporio's Windmills and the Castelli at Pyrgos
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
SantoriniA few hours on a quad, which on this island buys the freedom to stop where the coaches cannot, whether you are staying here or off a cruise ship for the day. Oia comes first, whitewashed houses along the caldera rim. Then Pyrgos, the highest settlement on Santorini, with the old Venetian Castelli above it, and Profitis Ilias, the highest point of all, where the view goes right round. The volcanic beaches follow: the black sand at Perissa, and the Red Beach seen from above. On the way, the windmills of Emporio, built in the 19th century and listed as historical monuments by the Greek Ministry of Culture. Moto Thira supply the vehicles, cover the fuel, hand out the helmets and send a local guide with the group. Two conditions: the price is per person with a minimum of two per booking, and drivers must have their licence with them.
