Four Private Hours on Santorini: Oia, Firostefani, the Heart Rock
Four hours, a private vehicle, and a local driver whose job is the four of you rather than a coachload. It is built for people with limited time: cruise passengers with a sailing to catch, families who will not spend a whole day on a bus, couples who want the photographs without the queue. Oia is the clifftop village everyone comes for, with whitewashed houses, blue domes and marble alleys running down towards the caldera. The Three Bells of Fira, at Firostefani, is the church that ends up on the postcards, with its bell tower and the sea a long way below. The Akrotiri lighthouse sits on the southern tip, where the cliffs drop away and the Aegean runs out ahead. It is quieter down there than anywhere on the northern rim. The Heart of Santorini is a rock on the caldera edge worn into the shape of a heart, and very few visitors find it. Pick-up and drop-off are included, and the vehicle is modern and air-conditioned.

Oia's Main Street
Oia sits on the cliff at the north end: whitewashed houses, blue-domed churches and narrow marble alleys running down towards the caldera. It is known for its sunsets and it is the most photographed village on the island, which is both the appeal and the warning.
Three Bells of Fira
The Three Bells of Fira, in Firostefani, stands high above the caldera and gives the view that ends up on the postcards: a blue-domed church, a whitewashed bell tower and the sea a long way below. It is quieter than Oia and it fits the island into a single frame.
Akrotiri Lighthouse
The Akrotiri lighthouse stands on the southern tip of the island, with the cliffs dropping below it and the Aegean running out ahead. There are fewer people here than anywhere else on the caldera rim, and the light late in the day is the reason to come.
Heart of Santorini
On the edge of the caldera, the Heart of Santorini is a rock formation worn into the shape of a heart, with the Aegean framed through it. Few visitors get out here, which is most of the point: it is quiet, and a long way from the crowds on the rim.
