Volcano Travel · Tour
Santa Ana and Coatepeque, Private, Leaving from Santa Ana City
This one starts in the city of Santa Ana, not in the capital and not on the coast, which shortens the drive considerably for anyone already in the west of the country. The walk is two hours up and two hours down, longer if the group needs it, inside Los Volcanes National Park. There is a safety talk at the check-in point before anyone sets off, and the climb has Lake Coatepeque and the neighbouring volcanoes in view for most of its length. At the top, the crater with its emerald green lagoon, and time to sit down. The descent goes at a pace that allows for looking at the plants and at whatever moves in them. Then two hours at Lake Coatepeque, which fills the crater of an older volcano. Viewpoints, a swim if you want one, and a boat ride, which is not included in the price. Lunch is at a restaurant above the lake and is also not included. Transport and the equipment you need are provided. The tour is private, and it ends back at the meeting point on Boulevard Nicolás Salume.

Santa Ana Volcano
Santa Ana volcano, with the emerald green lagoon in the crater at the top of it. The meeting is at the agreed place, then the drive to Los Volcanes National Park. A panoramic drive to the check-in point, and a short talk on safety. About two hours of climbing, with Lake Coatepeque and the volcanoes around it in view. At the top, the crater and its lagoon, with time for photographs and for sitting still. About two hours back down, at a pace that allows for the plants and the animals. Lunch, not included, at a local restaurant by Lake Coatepeque. Then the return to the meeting point.
Lake Coatepeque
Lake Coatepeque fills the crater of an older volcano, turquoise blue with green mountains around it, and it is where the day winds down after the climb. The transfer to the lake happens straight after the descent. Two hours there: viewpoints for photographs, a swim in the clear water if you want one, and a boat ride, which is not included. Lunch, also not included, at a restaurant looking over the lake. Then back to the meeting point.
