Ijen at Midnight, with a Coffee Plantation on the Way Back

The drive from your hotel to the Ijen parking area takes 90 minutes through rainforest, in a private vehicle. The walk is an hour to the top, then thirty minutes down into the crater, which is where the blue flame is and where the miners are working while you look at it. There is time for photographs before turning back. From the crater the route climbs again to the sunrise spot, and the morning light shows the crater properly: the turquoise-green lake below, and the miners still carrying sulphur up out of it. The way home has two stops in it. A coffee plantation, and the Jagir waterfall, which is optional and costs nothing extra if you want it.
